DARREN Pighills took 5-8 in seven overs as Skipton CI travelled to Sutton II and thrashed them by 10 wickets in Division Three of the Craven and District League.

The home side only made 97 thanks to Pighills' bowling. His efforts were backed up by Ian Henderson (57 not out) and Steven Woods (34no), who saw the Sandylands side to the points.

Hepworth & Idle II posted 220-7 over at Bradley, with Dave Goodaire (60) and Mark Davies (44) leading the way. Two of the home side’s juniors, Toby Meynell and Jack Andrews, took three wickets each.

Two more juniors, Edward Washington and George Bell, both made 42 as the Matthew Lane side closed on 155, with Michael Newell finishing with 5-26.

Embsay II got back to winning ways as they saw off Thornton by 94 runs at Shires Lane. Stephen Speak (5-17) and Neil Robinson (3-13) helped dismiss the visitors for 58. This was in reply to the home side’s 154-4, of which Neville Allan made 62.

Silsden got three points in Division Four when Chatburn II conceded and among the other concessions were: Cononley II to Cowling II; Glusburn II to Foulridge II and Long Lee II to Skipton CI II.

Bingley Congs III entertained Bradley II at Sandy Lane and limited the visitors to 92-9 despite Lily Bell and James Lampkin scoring 19 apiece. The Beckfoot Lane side galloped home by seven wickets, with Simon Webster making 26no.

Finally, Gargrave II beat Wilsden II at home thanks to a fine individual performance by George Beckwith. He claimed 4-20 in the first innings as his side restricted the visitors to 140-6.

In the successful reply, Beckwith (57) and Chris Lambert (51no) put on 103 for the fourth wicket in spite of Steve Wright's fine figures of 4-16.
