EMBSAY visited Crossflatts and pulled off an extraordinary one-run victory in Division One of the Mewies Craven Cricket League.

They batted first and were struggling on 60-7. However, David Wellock (31) and Joe Holt (40) pushed the score up to 162 all out.

Crossflatts' Dom Bennett (49) set up an exciting finish, and off the final ball, the hosts wanted two to win with one wicket remaining. Scott Robinson bowled the last batsman to snatch the points.

Oakworth have moved into second after winning at Sutton. Sam Solley (61) helped the hosts to 188-5 but Drew Duffy (58) and Ben Howell (45) ensured the visitors cruised home by five wickets.

Foulridge are Division Two leaders after a 114-run victory at Cononley. They plundered 255-5 declared, with Aamir Mohammed (59) being the main contributor. Cameron Knowles scored 66 in Cononley's inadequate reply of 141-9.

Airedale are second after a 93-run victory at Glusburn. They hit 240-6, with Mohammed Qadeer Hanif blasting a stunning 135no. The hosts only managed 147-7 in reply, led by Neil Freeman (74no).

Will Smith hit 55 as Gargrave reached 210-5 declared and he also claimed 4-25, as their opponents Haworth Road could only muster 97 in reply.

Cowling’s Jalal Khan took an incredible 8-29 to dismiss visitors Long Lee for 64. The hosts had earlier made 156, with Mohammed Shah Usman (48) top scoring.

Division Three joint-leaders Skipton CI and Bingley Congs II locked horns and thanks to the weather, settled for a point apiece.

Hosts Skipton made 152-9, with Sam Smith top scoring with 33. The away side were recovering well from 34-3 when time was called, Rob Cockell having taken 2-10.

Bradley lost by two wickets against Haworth II. They posted 158-8 thanks mainly to Dave Ryan (37no) and Andy Holmes (30no). Their opponents scrambled home despite Toby Meynell (3-23) and George Bell (3-30) bowling well.

Sutton II made 121 at Oakworth II, with Danny Ridehalgh making 76no. The hosts made light of the small target, cruising to victory by eight wickets.

Andy Hodgson (27no) had helped Embsay II to 50-3 against Crossflatts II when a downpour left the square in a dangerous state.

Division Four leaders Silsden won by concession on Saturday when Cononley II were unable to raise a side.

In third place are Foulridge II, who crushed Skipton CI II at home. The visitors made 111 with Jon Sharpe hitting 45 and the hosts reached their target quickly, for the loss of four wickets.

The match between Wilsden II and Cowling II was abandoned with the former on 85-5.

Glusburn scored 144-9 at Airedale II thanks to Alan Coney (39), but it proved not to be enough as the hosts romped home by nine wickets.

Denholme II had progressed to 157-6 when time was called at home to Gargrave II, Tom Storr taking 4-64.

Finally, Bradley II won easily at Long Lee. They amassed 227-4, with Billy Winterburn smashing 11 sixes and 13 fours in a splendid knock of 133, and Long Lee II could only reply with 165, as Winterburn took 3-22.
