INGLETON motorcyclist Harley Rushton goes into action this weekend after a superb treble last time out.

The 23-year-old had a busy weekend at the Bob Mcintyre Memorial Races, competing on three different bikes, three different classes and and had race wins on all three.

Rushton managed a few podiums on the Saturday and the team were pleased everything was in one piece all be the bikes very wet and dirty.

It was the first time in two years Rushton had ridden the Craven TZ Yamaha. But he proved dominant in the post classic junior races, finishing first in every race and setting a new class lap record along the way.

The Craven Manx was lacking the top speed against the bikes of Alan Oversby and Dominic Herbertson, but Rushton made up for the speed deficient through the corners.

Rushton had some poor starts on the 500 Crave Manx Norton but was on the pace of the Davies Motorsport duo of Oversby and Herbertson. Finishing second and third behind one of the other each time. Finally taking a victory in the final race after making the most of the other riders’ own mistakes.

Rushton got past the pair and bolted, setting the fastest 500 lap of the weekend in the process, unfortunately not quick enough to beat the current standing lap record.

The Craven Honda ran really well with only a gear selection problem causing a did not finish.

Harley was having race long battles in all the 350 races against the Davies Motorsport Hondas again, finishing on the podium in each race.

He managed to clinch the win in one of the 350 races and break the class record in another, improving on the record in each race.

Rushton said: "Racing three bikes across a weekend was a challenge but I thought I could manage and I did.

"It was tough physically but also mentally I was trying to figure out which bike I was on and what race it was when I was on the start line.

"I can't fault the bikes they all ran superb and the team provided me with some great bikes to fight for race wins.

"I enjoyed racing them all, the pace in each race over the weekend was fast, keeping me very busy.

"The results were great, lap records were going all weekend, so to get a couple myself is a great feeling.

"I always enjoy coming up to Scotland and East Fortune for the Bob Mac Memorial Races.

"The whole team is chuffed with the results and wins I've collected this weekend.

"I hope I did my dad proud today seen as though it's Father's Day. The next race for me and the team is the CRMC championship races at Darley Moor on July 7 and 8.”
