MATTHIAS Britton netted on his Farsley Celtic debut as they thumped Pontefract Collieries 4-0 in the Integro League Cup on Tuesday night, and he will hope to kick on from that as his side tackle Southport in the FA Cup this weekend.

Ben Atkinson also scored a brace, adding to Isaac Baldwin's opener. All four goals were scored after the hour mark and Farsley will hope to show similar stamina when they welcome the Merseysiders for tomorrow's Second Qualifying Round tie.

Brighouse Town also made it through in the League Cup after Tom Robinson's last-gasp winner at home to Ossett United on Monday. They are not in action again until they visit Frickley Athletic in the Evo-Stik East League next Tuesday.
