Wharfedale warm up for season with resounding victory

Wharfedale retained the Peter Kremer Memorial Trophy, renewing what had been traditional pre-season acquaintance with Kendal, virtue of a sparkling team performance that yielded nine tries in a 59-7 victory.
Kendal had little answer to the Greens' speed and confident running and handling, but were game to the last. Their efforts were finally rewarded in the closing minutes with a try by lock Gareth Gore, converted by Dan Stephens.
Chris Malherbe (2), Mark Bedworth, Luke Gray, Adam Whaites, Andy Hodgson, Mark Simpson, James Doherty and Tom Cokell accounted for the Dalesmen's tries, with Bedworth converting seven - including three splendid shots from wide out.
