Thirteen-year-old Beth Wright has got into the Great Britain under-18 girls’ inline hockey squad.
At 13 she is currently two years younger than any other member of the squad.
All squad members have to be 14-years-old to compete at the World Junior Olympics and luckily Beth will be 14 later this month.
She will be travelling to Los Angeles for the Junior Olympics in late June with the squad, who come from all over Great Britain. The squad train together in Sheffield regularly while Beth mainly trains in Glossop this year.
She plays for them in the central league in Rotherham. She also trains in Preston when her schedule allows and plays in Manchester tournaments for Preston.
Beth’s mother Eve, a single parent who works full time, said: “We are looking for a company sponsor or a few smaller sponsors for Beth to help fund the trip to Los Angeles, which is costing around £1,200. Any help would be fabulous.”
Beth is a student at Settle College and is currently in Year 9 and she eventually hopes to become a veterinary surgeon.
Anyone able to offer Beth sponsorship should contact 01729 851116 or 07863559596
