Silsden's venture in this season's FA Cup was ended in last night's extra-preliminary round replay in the north east.
It was very much a story of two disputed strikes as the home side took an early lead while the Cobbydalers were denied a late equaliser. Crook had earned the replay with a 2-2 draw in the first ever cup tie at Keighley Road.
They took the lead at their own ground in the tenth minute but the Silsden players were convinced the ball had not crossed the line. They were left just as dumbfounded five minutes from time when Rob Barrowclough had the ball in the back of the Crook net but the referee's assistant flagged for offside.
Cobbydalers' chairman Sean McNulty said, "There will be no FA Cup run for us this season, unfortunately. We had a couple of very strong penalty claims turned down as well as the disallowed goal.
"There was a very partisan crowd which may, or may not, have affected the decision of the officials but I have no problem with that because it is part and parcel of the game."
