Craven produced a great performance as they came from behind to beat Shipley 218-210 in the final of the Yorkshire County ABA Eric Hutchinson Cup at Horbury.
Things did not begin too well for the Skipton side and they found themselves seven points adrift after the first four matches.
Robbie Ellis jnr and Pauline Lowrie, were Cra-ven’s two winners 21-20 and 21-14 respectively, while 21-9 and 21-18 defeats for Joanne and Rob Ellis snr, made the difference.
Wayne Smithies came from 10-2 down to get home 21-13 at number five for Craven and Mick Demain’s (21-18) success at six improved Craven’s chan-ces even further.
However, these wins were offset by 21-13 and 21-10 defeats to leave them 16 points behind.
Phil Tunney bowled a super game at nine for Craven running out a 21-12 winner and with the Skipton vocal support getting louder, Craven’s back three of Mick Bastow (21-20), David Hewitt (21-14) and Ian Bernard 21-15 all bowled well to give their side the.

The Summer Doubles, which is being supported by the Mayor of Denholme Nora Haldenby, is taking place this Sunday, start 12.30pm, with qualifying rounds at Lund Park top green and Oxenhope BC.
Two pairs from each green will qualify for the final at Lund Park bottom green, the draw for greens is as follows:
