Having had a blank week to recharge their batteries after playing the two best sides in the league, Wharfedale face another stiff test on Saturday when they make the trip to Cinderford, in the Forest of Dean.
The hosts are having a curate’s egg of a season, losing seven of their first eight matches – which included a 33-25 defeat at the Avenue – but have turned their season round with four wins from their last five games, their victims including Ealing and Rosslyn Park; their only defeat since early December was by 17-12, at Jersey.
Cinderford’s win over Rosslyn Park saw them overtake the Greens into 13th position.
Having lost winger Scott Jordan to a dislocated shoulder against Jersey, the Wharfedale selectors welcome back James Tincknell to the starting line-up, and prefer Will Bell at fly-half over Tom Barrett, who is on the bench.
James Holland has recovered from illness and is also among the replacements.
Captain Rob Baldwin is available again and resumes at number eight.
Wharfedale: Luke Gray; James Tincknell, Dan Hart, Tom Davidson, Simon Horsfall; Will Bell, Philip Woodhead; Tom McGee, Ben Sowrey, Neil Dickinson, Richard Brown, Joe Quinn, Aaron Myers, Dan Solomi, Rob Baldwin (capt). Replacements: Joe Altham, Steve Graham, Richard Rhodes, James Holland, Tom Barrett.
