Joe Roberts is building a big reputation for himself as a kick boxer.
The talented 16-year-old notched up the eighth win of his ten-fight career to secure a Celtic Challenge title belt on a Thai Boxing Show at Barnsley Metrodome on Saturday.
Roberts who is a member of the Jai Muay Thai Boxing Club at Eastburn Fitness Centre, knocked his opponent out in the second round with a high kick.
This was a warm-up fight for Joe as he is fighting K1 Rules on one of the biggest shows ever in the UK on March 31, The The Main Event is being held at Event City, Manchester and is being televised.
Joe will be taking on another up and coming fighter Chad Sugden in front of talent scouts for worldwide K1 promoters such as Showtime.
Roberts’ trainer and manager Robin Shepherd, said: “This is a big year for Joe, fighting at The Main Event could see him making a big name for himself on the worldwide K1 scene.”
