Win and double tonic for Silsden

The soggy scene at Guiseley where Steeton were due to play
Having spent the whole of the Aire-Wharfe League season hovering just above the bottom of Division Three, Silsden may have turned their season round in a weekend.
On Saturday they produced a gutsy display to earn a creditable draw against runaway leaders Colton, and then topped that the following day with a Waddilove Cup giant-killing.
Faced with a Calverley side that made short work of Horsforth in the previous round and whose league form had picked up considerably before two wash-outs, Silsden started the day as underdogs.
But Majid Inayat followed up a century on Saturday with a knock of 56 and, supported by Chris Barrett (44), Lee Bilborough (43) and Craig Thornton (36no), helped Silsden to 207-5.
Skipper Bilborough (3-18) then linked up with Alex Bradbury (4-16) and skittled out the visitors for just 75. The win sets up a quarter-final clash with Division One high-fliers Collingham.
The day before Silsden’s cup success, Inayat smashed a season-best 113 as the Cobbydalers scored 204-6 at leaders Colton.
That earned them two points after the hosts had posted a daunting 269-4 as Nick Thackray carried his bat for 155.
Division One leaders Steeton had their games at Guiseley washed out.
There was also no play in the Division Two clash between Pool and Upper Wharfedale and the Division Three encounter involving Skipton and Woodhouse at Sandylands.
