Barnoldswick Town's FA Vase first round home tie against Maine Road was abandoned after 12 minutes when the away side's captain Eddie Moran suffered a broken leg.

Moran went into a tackle with Town's Billy Priestley and caught his studs in the Victory Park turf causing his leg to break.

He was taken to Skipton General Hospital and it was decided to abandon the game because players on both sides were upset by what had happened.

The match is being re-staged at Barnoldswick on Tuesday night.
