CARLETON are obviously benefitting from running only one team in the Mastab's Craven League

Their first team withdrew from the Premier Division last February after conceding 89 goals in ten matches and winning only once, while Carleton's reserve team finished the season seventh out of 11 in Division Four.

However, this season there is no mid-table mediocrity beckoning as they sit proudly top of the pile in Division Three – now the lowest division – with three wins out of three.

Their latest victory was by 5-1 at previously unbeaten Pendle Renegades, Ben Teal's hat-trick being backed up by Ashley Purnell and Stuart Gee.

Cowling Reserves are second following a 1-0 derby win at Bradley Reserves last Thursday, while Barlick Wanderers have been beaten 6-1 at third-placed Skipton Town Reserves, who had six different scorers – Shane Dwyer, Naq Hussain, Jason Martin, Thomas Mountain and substitutes Sam Kimberley and Tim McIntyre, Dominic Horth replying.

Wanderers also went down 6-2 on Saturday to Ingrow & Worth Valley Reserves, Daniel Driver and Jake Hartley netting for the basement boys.

Settle United are third in the Premier Division following a 7-1 victory at bottom club Embsay, Ben Graham getting the consolation.

On target for Settle were man of the match John Beckwith (3), Daniel Bathers (2), Steve Mounsey and David Worthington.

Cross Hills have climbed to fourth. Inspired by man of the match Robert Matthews, who scored two, they defeated visitors Grindleton 4-0, the other goals coming from Luke Newton and Jamie Page.

Meanwhile, Wilsden Athletic have lost their unbeaten record, falling 5-1 at home to leaders Skipton LMS, for whom the goals came from the in-form Luke Howsen (3), Oliver Hunter and Aidan Beard.

Another hat-trick man to lift the gong was Rolls' Liam Garbutt as his team beat visitors Cowling 6-0, Morgan Brown (2) and Jonathon McGeachie making up the tally.

Grassington United's first win of the season was an emphatic one – 6-1over Earby Town, with Ian Craven (3), Jeremy Gee (2) and Peter Hanson being the marksman.

Cononley Sports hadn't tasted defeat, only conceding one goal in their first two matches, but that all changed with a 5-0 setback at second-placed Trawden Celtic.

Skipton Town still have a 100 per cent record in Division One after three matches, Liam Cartman and William Knight bagging braces in their 6-3 victory at Cononley Sports Reserves, who had Josh Brown, Nick Kaminski and Robert Slater on target, while two Robert Watson goals gave sixth-placed Bradley an impressive 2-2 draw at third-placed Gargrave in another 'late kick-off'.

Silsden Whitestar are up to fourth, following a 2-1 evening win at Bingley Town, John Berry and Mark Bradley netting for Whitestar.

However, if the early signs are anything to go by, it could be a season of struggle for Cononley Sports Reserves, who are without a point after three matches, while Rolls won 2-1 at Ingrow & Worth Valley on Saturday.

Sutton lost 3-1 at Polonia, Jakoslaw Makkowski getting the consolation.
