IT LOOKS like being another long, hard winter for struggling Embsay.

They finished bottom of the Premier Division last season, with just a win and a draw from 16 outings.

Embsay conceded 58 goals, and this campaign in the same division – they were spared relegation – has started even more worryingly as 24 goals have hit the back of their net in just four matches.

Their latest defeat was by 5-1 at Earby Town, who thus tasted success for the first time this season, with James Mole getting the consolation.

Meanwhile, newly-promoted Settle United are still unbeaten at the top following a 7-1 thrashing of Wilsden Athletic, Daniel Bathers (2) leading the way, followed by William Beckwith, Matthew Cardus, Elliott Firth and substitutes Pedro Quintas and Lee Walker.

Rolls climbed to third by handing Trawden Celtic their first setback of the season – by 6-3. On the mark for the winners were Liam Garbutt (3), Morgan Brown, Ben Harrison and replacement Ben Harrison.

Andrew North and Jamie Page earned fourth-placed Cross Hills a 2-2 draw at Cononley Sports, whose marksmen were Reece Fowler and Stephen Pearson, while Jeremy Gee and Paul Wright were on target for Grassington United in their 2-1 victory at Cowling.

In the First Division, braces for Andrew Nicholson and Jake Thompson spearheaded leaders Skipton Town’s 6-0 home win over Hellifield Sports, Liam Cartman and William Knight competing the tally.

Second-placed Gargrave are also unbeaten after a 4-3 victory at Pendle Renegades, with Cameron Hodge (2), Matthew Simpson and Thomas Varey doing the business as the hosts went down for the first time.

Mark Bradley netted at Bradley to help Silsden Whitestar climbed to fourth on the back of a 4-1 derby win, Andy Kay, Sam Stanfield and James Whitehead also being on target.

Grindleton lead the way in Division Two after a 3-1 win at Sutton who are propping up the table without a point.

Settle Reservces inflicted a first defeat of the season on Manningham Mills All Stars as they ran out 4-3 winners.

Carleton maintained their 100 per cent record in Division Three with with a 4-2 win over Skipton Town Reserves. Ashley Purnell netted twice.
