The Mastab’s Craven & District Football League, which provides football for over 1,200 players in 50 teams, is seeking a new registration secretary.

All the league's records are computer based using the Football Association's Full Time programme.

The post requires someone with time to spare each day to deal with any post received and rather more time on a Tuesday evening when all the match reports are available for checking.

The bulk of the work is at the start of the season when all the registration forms are received but help is available if required at that time. There is requirement to attend the monthly management committee meeting in Skipton.

League chairman Gerry Aldersley, who has made repeated pleas in recent years for new people to come forward and help run the league, said: "The league management committee is made up of a few dedicated people but they are aware that they are all getting older and some might say past their sell by date.

"Every year we advertise for people to come and help with the task but this generally falls on deaf ears.

"We currently have a vacancy for a registration secretary to assist in the daily running of the league."

Anyone interested in helping the league can contact Gerry Aldersley on 01282813407.
