Otley Town 2 Grassington United 5

STRIKER Ian Craven hit a hat-trick as Grassington United fought back from 2-0 down to record an impressive West Riding County Cup win at the Old Showground.

Goals by Scott Firth and John Lock looked to have put their West Yorkshire League Premier Division opponents on top by Grassington, despite having to substitute the injured Pete Hanson with Nigel Wood, hit back.

Craven headed home at the far post before half-time and levelled the scores early in the second half with another header from a cross by captain Paul Wright.

Grassington felt they were denied a penalty when Jez Gee was hauled down but shrugged off the disappointment to take the lead with a strike by substitute Wood.

Craven completed his hat trick, when he tucked the ball home after another free kick from Wright had hit the post.

Otley never really threatened and Grassington sealed the victory with the goal of the game from Declan Hawkins after superb work Tarek Issa.
