SKIPTON LMS continued their dominance over Cononley Sports with a win in the Blue Fin Craven Cup – but they needed extra time to do it.

A muddy pitch hampered the football of both sides and although LMS created the better chances, Cononley were unlucky to hit both the post and bar as they went down 2-1.

LMS’ top scorer Luke Howsen scored both their goals with headers while Craig Gregory netted for the visitors.

Settle United eased into the semi-finals with a convincing 8-0 win over Skipton Town. The visitors had no answer to the fast movement of the home team.

The Settle goals came from John Beckwith (3), Daniel Bathers (2), David Worthington, Dale Denham and Matthew Cardus.

Bradley gave an excellent account of themselves at Rolls before losing 3-2. James Monkhouse made some excellent saves in the Bradley goal to keep the home side at bay.

Rolls took the lead with a shot from 25 yards. Despite the Rolls pressure, Bradley held firm and in a rare attack Mariusz Skoczek scored.

More pressure from Rolls resulted in a penalty. An injury to the Bradley skipper did not help their cause.

After the break Rolls increased the lead with a header and Bradley lost a second player to injury and played the last half hour with ten men.

However the spirit of Bradley enabled them to pose a threat on the break.

Rolls lost their keeper with a hand injury before Bradley were rewarded with a penalty which Josh Brown converted.

Rolls were always in control with goals from Jonathon McGeachie (2) and Morgan Brown, but this was a good effort from Bradley who missed a late chance to force extra time.

Embsay’s were punished for four bad defensive mistakes as they went down 6-0 to holders Rimington.
