EMBSAY have won only their second game of the season in the Craven League Premier Division.

Their 3-2 victory at Grindleton was not enough to lift them off the bottom of the table but it did pull them level with Cowling, who have three games in hand, and left them just a point behind Earby Town, who have played two games less.

Man of the match David Greenwood, Nathan Robinson and substitute Peter Watson were on target for Embsay.

At the other end of the table, second-placed Rolls won 4-1 at Cowling thanks to goals from man of the match Paul Oldroyd, Morgan Brown, Robert Greenwood and Sam Harrison, Thabani Songo again being man of the match for Cowling, while Andrew North inspired leaders Cross Hills to a 2-0 home triumph over fourth-placed Trawden Celtic.

There was no joy, however, for Cononley Sports in their second-round Northern Plant Hire Trophy match at Division One Ingrow & Worth Valley, who won 4-0 to reach the quarter-finals.

However, Cononley Sports Reserves have finally won in Division One. With only a draw to their name so far, they triumphed at the 15th attempt by 3-2 at next-to-bottom Bradley.

Man of the match Craig Ebbrell bagged a brace for the winners, Jordan Hudson also scoring, while man of the match Zac Conway and Tom Wilson replied for Bradley, who led 2-1 at half-time.

Fifth-placed Skipton Town won 3-1 at injury-depleted Bingley Town, who finished with just eight fit players.

Division Two leaders Sporting Keighley fell to only their third defeat of the season when second-placed Grassington United won 4-1 at Marley, Jan Ozdoba (2), Ben Gannon and Ryan Hawkins netting for the visitors, whose man of the match was Adam Steventon, while cellar dwellers Sutton lost 8-2 at home to third-placed Broomhill.

Meanwhile, Settle United Reserves climbed a place to sixth on the back of a 4-3 win at FC Polonia thanks to goals by Matthew Simpson and Jonathan Dawson.

In Division Three, leaders Carleton were held 2-2 at Ilkley, Robert Bradley getting a brace for the visitors, while Cross Hills Reserves had a great 2-1 win at second-placed Pendle Renegades Reserves, with Jimmy Anson man of the match.
