SETTLE United put their recent West Riding County Cup expulsion and Craven Cup exit behind them as they breezed into the quarter-finals of the Craven League Premier Cup.

Matthew Simpson scored five times as they crushed struggling Embsay 9-0 to seal their place in the last eight.

There was also a hat-trick from striker John Beckwith and a goal from Dale Denham as Settle showed no mercy for their opponents.

Settle, who lost their appeal to the West Riding County FA against their expulsion for playing the ineligible Beckwith in their 3-2 quarter-final win over Oxenhope Rec, are still battling for the Premier Division title as well as the cup.

Their next opponents will be the winners of the Rolls v Cononley Sports tie which was postponed on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch.

Skipton LMS took time off from their bid for a fifth-successive league title as they overcame Division One side AFC Colne in the Northern Plant Hire Trophy.

Two goals from Fred Midgley and further strikes from Aidan Beard, Alex Conroy and Oliver Hunter secured a 5-3 win. Daniel Conway (2) and Joshua Cockerill were the Colne marksmen. Next up for LMS is a trip to Trawden Celtic in the quarter-finals.

The only Premier Division game saw Wilsden brush aside lowly Cowling 4-1.

Leaders Gargrave strengthened their position in Division One with a 3-1 victory at Bradley.

They are now five points ahead of Chatburn with two games left. The big danger to Gargrave’s title hopes comes from third-placed Silsden Whitestar. They are also five points back but with three games in hand on the top two.

Goals by Jordan Slade and Jack Timmins enabled Pendle Renegades to edge out Bingley Town 2-1.

There were no games in Division Two and just two in Division Three. Neither match had any impact on matters at each end of the table. A hat-trick from Drew Jennings powered Horton to their 3-1 win over Barnoldswick Barons, while Ilkley Town defeated Addingham by the same score.
