SKIPTON LMS, who still have ten league games outstanding in the Craven League Premier Division, have added to their fixture backlog by reaching the semi-finals of the Northern Plant Hire Trophy.

Fred Midgley (2) and Daniel Hunt were on target in their 3-2 quarter-final victory at Trawden Celtic, and they will meet the winners of last night's match between Ingrow & Worth Valley and Grassington United in the last four.

Rolls needed penalties before going through in their Premier Division Cup quarter-final, edging past Cononley Sports 4-3 on spot-kicks after there were no goals in open play.

But elsewhere there was knockout heartbreak for Sutton and Skipton Town.

Sutton were 2-2 at full-time in their Division Two Cup semi-final against Grindleton Reserves at Marley but lost 4-3 in extra-time after goals by Michael Ruddock (2) and John Crummack.

Skipton Town went down 4-1 at Ingrow & Worth Valley in a Division One Cup semi-final, Philip Clayton getting the consolation goal, while Town's man of the match was Mark Eyton-Jones.

In the Premier Division, leaders Cross Hills have kept the pressure on second-placed Rolls with a 5-1 defeat of visitors Cowling.

Andrew North (3), Scott Hanson and Ryan Narey were Cross Hills' marksmen, with Will Storrie again being man of the match, Ryan Buckley taking the honours for bottom club Cowling.

Settle United won 5-1 at Grassington United, with John Beckwith's brace being backed up by Shaun Airey, Matthew Cardus and Luke Hepton, but United had earlier beaten bottom club Embsay 7-0 with Jeremy Gee (4) and Tarek Issa (3) starring as Jack Schindler took both man of the match awards.

Rolls, who are six points behind Cross Hills with three games in hand, beat visitors Wilsden Athletic 3-2 with goals from Morgan Brown, Sam Harrison and man of the match Jonathon McGeachie.

Championship favourites Silsden Whitestar were top of the pops in Division One, putting 13 past Cononley Sports Reserves, who scored one in reply.

Sam Stanfield was an easy choice for man of the match after scoring seven, while Whitestar were helped by further goals by Ben McClennon (3) and Ben O'Melia (3), Laurence Dunne replying and Thomas Smith being man of the match.

Gargrave won 3-1 at Bingley Town, while Oxenhope Recreation have climbed to third on Division Two on the back of a 3-1 win at Settle United Reserves, Mark Loughlin shining for United, while Skipton LMS Reserves had to hand a walkover to Manningham All Stars.

In Division Three, champions elect Carleton took their league tally to 99 goals in 21 matches after an 8-2 home victory over Addingham, with goals from Robert Bradley (3), man of the match Ben Teal (2), Joshua Banks, Stuart Gee and substitute Stephen Cox, while Bradley Reserves climbed above Addingham to 11th thanks to a 3-1 triumph at home to cellar dwellers Sutton Reserves, Oliver Chambers, man of the match Robbie Smith and Tom Wilson getting the goals.

Lee Rooke was best for Sutton Reserves in their 6-0 defeat at Ilkley, while Barlick Wanderers fared even worse at home to Trawden Celtic Reserves, falling 8-0, despite the best efforts of Jordan Driver.

Paul Clifton was man of the match for Skipton Town Reserves in their 1-0 defeat at home to Pendle Renegades Reserves.
