SETTLE United have banked a second trophy on what could be the way to a Craven League treble.

With the Premier Division Cup safely pouched at the end of last month, United have added the Northern Plant Hire Trophy after a 5-0 demolition of Skipton LMS at Gargrave last Wednesday.

John Beckwith (2), Shaun Airey, Luke Hepton and man of the match William Beckwith were on target for Settle, leaving the Premier Division as their only remaining target.

Second-placed Rolls can overhaul leaders Cross Hills on goal difference if they win their last two matches but both can be passed by Settle, who are third and have five matches left, and Skipton LMS, who are fourth and have six remaining.

United defeated sixth-placed visitors Trawden Celtic at the weekend with goals from Airey, Hepton, Matt Loughlin and double man-of-the-match winner John Beckwith.

LMS triumphed 4-0 at Cowling on Monday evening to stay four points behind United with that game in hand.

Grassington United have benefited from walkovers against Earby Town and Cononley Sports but the latter bounced back with a 3-2 victory at Wilsden Athletic on Monday thanks to strikes from Laurence Dunne, Elliott Hollings and substitute Liam Molloy, pushing them up to eighth.

Settle United Reserves have also been among the goals, putting seven past Skipton LMS Reserves in Division Two.

Steven Mounsey and man of the match Liam Swanson bagged braces, with Paul Ambrose, Harry Bland and Sam Woodrow making up the tally, with Iain Tyrer getting the consolation.

However, no-one could match Carleton in the striker stakes as they continued to celebrate their Division Three championship with 19 goals in two matches.

Ingrow and Worth Valley Reserves were their first victims last Thursday, conceding ten, which went to Stuart Gee (3), Joshua Banks (2), Ashley Purnell (2), man of the match Ben Teal (2) and Stuart Hunn.

On Saturday, Carleton moved on to Barlick Wanderers, where they bagged another nine, Robert Bradley (4), Banks (2), Teal (2) and Purnell hitting the target, while Gee was man of the match.

Cowling Reserves showed some spirit in drawing 2-2 at higher-placed Horton, Mark Adams getting both man-of-the-match awards for Cowling, while Ricky Divito picked up the gong for Barnoldswick Barons as they went down to a 2-1 defeat at Addingham.

The latter saw off Barlick Wanderers 5-0, Liam Butler taking the award for the losers, John Naylor collecting both for Sutton Reserves in their 2-0 defeat at home to Ilkley.

There were walkovers in Division One for Cononley Sports Reserves over Bingley Town and Pendle Renegades over Rolls Reserves.

Meanwhile, Silsden Whitestar's game at home to Ingrow & Worth Valley was postponed but the Division One champions were presented with their trophy.
