Barnoldswick Town under-18s have just finished a successful season by winning the East Lancs U18 Yellow League.

They did this with a comprehensive 6-1 away win over nearest rivals Rishton.

Having won 12 out of 14 games they took the title by seven points and their skipper Max Smith ended up as the league's top scorer with 21 goals.

The team has been very fortunate this year to receive new grants from a number of groups.

They received a Grow The Game Grant from the West Riding FA which helped with funding for training kit and part payment of the strip.

The main grant came from the Football Foundation which has given funding for three years for the development of under-18 Football at Barnoldswick Town. .

This has given money for a number of things such as Training Facilities, Ref's fees, Coaching Course costs and also a £250 voucher for a Nike strip which has the FA facilities Fund Logo on the front. This team has had to be rebuilt from the ground up and was going to fold and but these grants have ensured that it has not only survived but has proved to be very successful. A large number of new players had to be signed on and Manager Pat Jones was also very lucky to receive help from 2 new and young coaches in James Goodall and Billy Fryer.
