SETTLE United have clinched the Craven League Premier Division title.

Needing only one win from their last two matches to seal the crown, they have been awarded tonight's home match against Earby Town.

Only a ridiculous 43-0 defeat against Cowling on Saturday can theoretically prevent Settle from clinching the championship.

Settle won 5-1 at Wilsden Athletic last Wednesday, 6-1 at home to end outside contenders Skipton LMS's championship hopes on Saturday, and 11-2 at Cowling on Monday night.

Man-of-the-match John Beckwith, Matthew Cardus, Elliot Firth, Luke Hepton and Matthew Simpson were on target at Wilsden.

John Beckwith again took the gong against LMS, bagging a hat-trick, and he was backed up by Dale Denham (2) and Shaun Airey, man of the match Oliver Hunter replying.

Simpson joined John Beckwith in the hat-trick club on Monday, with other scorers in the romp being Airey (2), Samuel Arrowsmith, Cardus and David Worthington.

Rolls lost 2-0 at home to LMS last Wednesday, Fred Midgley bagging a brace, but Rolls, who have now dropped to third after Settle's flurry of wins, bounced back in their final game by winning 6-2 at Wilsden last Saturday.

Matthews Blackwell (2) and Naylor (2) led the way, Morgan Brown and man of the match James Cumpstey adding to the tally.

Meanwhile, FC Sporting Keighley are celebrating a third consecutive promotion after officials awarded them the points from Tuesday night’s cancelled Division Two match against Manningham All Stars, who couldn't raise a team.

Sporting needed a point to climb above Broomhill into second place but a win was necessary to move out of reach of fourth-placed Grassington Reserves.

But the Craven League have moved quickly to confirm all three points have been awarded to the Marley-based team, and the table has been adjusted accordingly, with Sporting finishing runners-up to Oxenhope Recreation Thirds.
