SILSDEN entertain Skybet League One side Fleetwood Town in their opening warm-up game at the Angel Telecom Stadium on Monday (7.45 pm).

Joint manager Ryan Haigh has worked hard to get this prestigious fixture as Silsden begin their preparations for the opening of the new North West Counties League season on August 8 when the Cobbydalers are at home to Maine Road.

Haigh said: “I got close to getting Fleetwood to come last season and after some negotiating we have finally got them to travel to Silsden to start off our pre-season preparations.”

Fellow joint manager Danny Bolton, added: “Fleetwood have promised to bring a strong outfit. We are looking forward to the challenge.”

And looking ahead to the coming campaign, he added: “Ryan and I have been busy planning for the forthcoming season and retaining the current talented squad has been our priority.

“We are also looking at how we can improve the squad and build upon the success that saw us equal our highest points tally at this level.

“There are numerous targets that have been identified and we have been in communication and had meetings with all of them.”
