SILSDEN missed out on their first league double of the season in the North West Counties League top tier when they lost 5-1 at Padiham on Wednesday and ended the game with eight men.
The Cobbydalers will need all their resolve to bounce back when they travel to Abbey Hey on Saturday.
Silsden lost their on-loan keeper Joe Taylor to an early red card, recent signing Elliott Firth to a late injury and had Charles Collinge sent off for a second bookable offence, which led to a last-gasp penalty for the hosts in a nightmare midweek outing.
The defeat left the Cobbydalers just outside the drop zone as they head to mid-table Abbey Hey for what will be yet another stern test of Ryan Haigh’s young squad.
