THERE was no shortage of excitement in the Barnoldswick derby in the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League.

Peter Mogford, man of the match for hosts AFC, netted twice but he was trumped by Luke Scothern, Oliver Venn and Leon Wright for Barnoldswick Barons, who won 3-2 in the Third Division clash.

Ben Crabtree was also sent off for the 11th-placed hosts, who came close to defeating their fourth-placed neighbours.

Barlick Wanderers were also in action on the adjacent pitch at Victory Park and won 4-2 against Sutton to climb a place to seventh.

Tom Duerden (2), Adam Bailey and man of the match Sam Walsh scored for Wanderers, with John Crummack and Aiden Robertson replying.

The league's interest in the West Riding County FA Saturday Challenge Cup ended with Grassington United's 4-1 home defeat to Huddersfield YMCA in the third round but Settle United go marching on in the league's Northern Plant Hire Trophy.

Luke Hepton and Mark Loughlin netted in their 2-0 third-round victory over high-flying Trawden Celtic, giving them another home tie – against AFC Colne or Rolls – in the quarter-finals.

The clubs also clashed at reserve level in Division Three, with Settle completing a good day with a 3-2 away win that lifted them two places to seventh.

George Gowland, Arron Jackson and Luke Woodrow netted for Settle.

Top-flight Cross Hills were the big losers in the Keighley & District FA Saturday Challenge Cup, losing 2-1 against Second Division Broomhill on Marley Stadium's 3G pitch, conceding both goals inside the final ten minutes.

In Division One, Cowling are up to second in after a 2-0 home victory over fifth-placed Skipton Town, while Paul McDowall-inspired Rolls Reserves defeated visitors Bingley Town 5-0 after goals by Matthews Coates (2), Blackwell and Heald, substitute Brooklyn Cross completing the tally.
