BARNOLDSWICK Town have boosted their North West Counties Premier Division squad by signing experienced striker Danny Forrest.

The 31-year-old launched his career with Bradford City and has since played for Halifax Town, Crawley Town, Barrow, Guiseley Harrogate Town and Gainsborough Trinity.

Forrest is a friend of Town's assistant manager James Gill who said: "I am delighted to have brought a player of Danny's calibre into the club.

"He's an ex pro who has had a very good career to date and I know he's raring to go and show the our fans what he's got.

"He won't only bring quality on the pitch but also a wealth of experience off it and I know our other strikers will only benefit from his arrival.

"Hopefully along with another couple of new faces in the pipeline, he will give us the timely boost we need to end the season on a high and give us that push to finish in the top six."

Forrest goes straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Ashton Athletic.
