Silsden face their second midweek game in the space of three days for a second consecutive week when they head to CNG Stadium to take on Harrogate Town tonight in a West Riding County Cup tie.

The winners of the re-arranged tie now know who they will face in the final at Valley Parade on Tuesday, April 19 after the other semi-final was settled last Monday at Horsfall Stadium.

Holders Bradford Park Avenue beat Ossett Albion 6-2, despite being two goals down after just seven minutes.

When Silsden won their derby quarter-final 3-2 at Thackley, the upcoming semi-final would have been the biggest game of their season.

But since that December evening, they have tumbled into the drop zone in the North West Counties League Premier Division and will face more important games in their relegation fight.

The Cobbydalers go into tonight’s tie on the back of earning a point from a tight derby in the league, following their goalless draw at Barnoldswick Town on Tuesday, but they will surely be tired after being forced to play two midweek league games before last Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Congleton Town.

The home side are in the play-off places in Vanarama National League North, so will be huge favourites and have had more time to prepare as they have not played since Saturday.

However, Simon Weaver’s men may be a little fragile after successive 1-0 defeats in the league, and the boss may make changes as his priority must be promotion to the Vanarama National League.
