BEN Gorman's penalty in the final minute of the first half earned Barnoldswick Town a Premier Division away win on Saturday.

Gorman fired his spot kick past goalkeeper Dale Latham after defender Ben Seol had brought down

striker Mark Threlfall.

The goal was reward for a first half in which Town had the better of the exchanges and created the clearer chances.

In only the second minute Harry Thompson had forced Latham into a smart save while Shaun Airey shot narrowly over the bar after a well worked corner routine.

Mark Threlfall was thwarted by a fine interception from Seol before Airey again went close with a shot which just went past a post.

Town keeper Jordan Gidley saved well from Scott Taylor while he also turned Harry Brazel's header over the bar from Lee Duckworth's free kick.

Town remained in control in the second half although they did have to weather a couple of moments of pressure. Gidley held a soft header from Kyle Riley while Gidley

made a fine point blank save to deny Brazel when a goal looked certain.

There was also a let off in the final minute when a corner was only partially cleared and Riley squandered a good chance to equalise by shooting over the bar.
