GOALKEEPERS excelled as Steeton reserves ended their home season with an entertaining 1-1 draw against Campion's second string.

They got off to the perfect start when Sam Fox converted a superb pass out of defence from his brother Kyle.

Steeton tried hard to increase their lead as Jack Cryer volleyed just over from 30 yards and Mark McGee was denied by visiting keeper Karl Renardson.

He then smothered from Sam Fox from point-blank range and saved again from McGee.

At the other end, Wayne Mahomet produced an acrobatic save from a volley but was beaten two minutes before the break after the Campion player had danced around two tackles before sliding his shot home.

Both stoppers shone in a goalless second half – each pulling off four good saves to keep out their opponents.

Steeton management team Andy Foster and Damien Whiteoak will have been pleased with the performance against a side much higher up the table.

They round off their Division One campaign at Holmfirth Town on Saturday.

Steeton reserves: Mahomet, Meegan (McGowan), Park, Hudson, Kyle Fox, Whiteoak, Dowthwaite (Abbas), Cryer, Sam Fox (Briggs), Howland, McGee.
