ALBION Sports rocketed up to second place in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division with a late flourish at Rainworth Miners' Welfare.

The home side took an early lead through Aaron Moxham but Josh McKiernon levelled just after the half-hour to ensure parity at the break.

Danny Facey returned to the side from holiday, and when he was fouled inside the area five minutes into the second half, Asif Hussain stepped up to slot home the penalty.

Albion had to wait to add to their lead but Omar Habeeb and a stoppage-time brace from Facey saw them go nap and above their two neighbours, who both drew.

Liversedge were 3-0 up at Handsworth Parramore after a first half hat-trick from Vaughan Redford but the home side hit back before the interval and added two goals without reply in the second half to claim a point.

Thackley had to come from a goal down to take a point at home against Maltby Main after Shawn Mitchell had put the visitors in front in the sixth minute.

The Dennyboys equalised through Dan Clayton midway through the second half but the draw cost them two places as they slipped to sixth.

Campion could reclaim top spot, at the expense of Eccleshill United, with a home win in Division One tonight.

James Bicknell’s side host Shirebrook Town in the second game under lights at Scotchman Road.

It will be Campion’s fifth game of the new season, while their visitors have played just twice and, after losing both, they are at the foot of the table with a minus-nine goal difference.

Silsden are also in action, with the Hallmark Security Division One travelling to Bacup Borough.

The Cobbydalers have picked up just three points from a possible nine after just one victory but Bacup have had a worse start and are yet to bank a maximum.
