NEW signing Zack Dale marked his Town debut with a goal as they sealed their place in the second round of the Macron Cup on Saturday.
The former Guiseley, Silsden and Nelson player found the target in the 36th minute as Town cancelled out Ben Woods 27th minute opener for West Didsbury
Town keeper Stuart Cross was forced to make a good save from Woods as the home side exerted pressure at the end of the first half.
Cross also did well in the second half to deny Rob Black and Ash Woods as the visitors weathered a good spell from
West Didsbury in the second half.
Town stunned their opponents by taking the lead in the 78th minutes whenMark Threlfall betted with a header from an Andrew Hill corner..
West Didsbury were forced to attack in search of an equaliser and were caught on the counter attack. Substitute John Beckwith won the ball on the edge of the penalty area a minute into injury time and took the ball past the advancing Dean Williams.
Town's reward for their win is a home tie against Cammell Laird 1907 in the second round.
