Hallmark Security League Macron Cup second round: Barnoldswick Town 2 Cammell Laird 1907 1
SUBSTITUTE Aaron Hollindrake finally broke the resistance of visitors Cammell Laird, and their goalkeeper Dave Parkinson, with a 90th-minute winner.
Connor Christiansen had put Lairds ahead in the fourth minute, but John Beckwith equalised a minute later following a corner, and after that it was a question of getting another effort past Parkinson.
Barlick custodian Stuart Cross denied Christiansen before half-time, as did Parkinson from a Mark Threlfall chance, but it was Parkinson who was the busier after the interval.
He saved well from Beckwith (twice) and substitute Samuel Howell before Hollindrake tapped in late on when Beckwith had again been thwarted.
Barlick are at Abbey Hey in the third round (last 16) on Saturday, November 26, while Lairds and Barlick meet again on Saturday, this time in the league at Lairds.
