SILSDEN have parted company with boss James Gill after a run of poor league results, with Danny Forrest taking over at the helm.
The Cobbydalers won 8-2 at top-flight side New Mills in the League Cup last Saturday but Gill has paid the price following five league defeats on the bounce – in which his side scored just once – that have left the club 14th in Hallmark Security League Division One.
A statement on the club website read: "It is with regret that following a run of disappointing league results and our current league position Silsden Football Club have decided to release James Gill as their first-team manager with immediate effect.
"Danny Forrest has accepted the role of first-team manager and will take over first-team duties.
"The club would like to place on record and thank James for his tireless work both on and off the field. During his time in charge he has made a massive contribution and improvement to the team.
"However, it is unfortunate his efforts have not materialised in the results he deserved.
"James goes with the clubs best wishes for the future."
Gill took over the Cobbydalers in February last season when the club was struggling at the wrong end of the table.
He was unable to prevent them from dropping out of the North West Counties League Premier Division for the first time since 2005.
It was hoped that Silsden would be in the mix to make a swift return to the top flight this season but they have struggled to find consistency.
