SILSDEN go into Saturday's North West Counties League Division One home game against Sandbach United looking for a fourth win on the spin in all competitions.

The Cobbydalers progressed in two cup competitions and then romped to victory at AFC Blackpool last weekend when they hit their hosts with six of the best, and manager Danny Forrest is looking for the momentum to continue.

He said: “The results have picked up and the win over FC Halifax Town in the West Riding County Cup certainly gave us a big boost to take into last Saturday, where we enjoyed a 6-0 away win.

“A fourth win on the bounce would be great, and it doesn’t have to be a big win. I’d settle for scrappy win because we need to grind results out.”

In the Toolstation Northern Counties East League top tier, promotion hopefuls Thackley also need a win as the second-placed Dennyboys look to keep the pressure on leaders Cleethorpes Town.

The Dennyboys were disappointed to be knocked out of the West Riding County Cup by holders Bradford Park Avenue in midweek, but they are expected to bounce back from that last-minute defeat with a maximum at second-from-bottom Parkgate.

Premier Division rivals Liversedge will also be looking for a win as they host a Maltby Main side that are fifth from bottom.

Sedge are seventh and would go above neighbours Albion Sports with a win as Albion’s home game against AFC Mansfield was put back after landlords Farsley Celtic were drawn at home in the FA Trophy.

Eccleshill United are in need of a boost in Division One as they look for their first win since October.

The mid-table Eagles host rock bottom Nostell MW but the visitors gave Campion a scare last weekend so they will be wary.

Campion are on the verge of the play-off places, and if they win at Yorkshire Amateur, who are ten places lower in the table, they could be back in the mix.

However, they only just banked a maximum last weekend after edging a five-goal thriller at basement outfit Nostell.
