LEADERS Settle United showed no mercy to bottom club Earby Town when they met in the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League Premier Division.

The visitors had five different scorers in a 5-1 success, with strikes from Sam Arrowsmith, Dan Bathers, Mark Loughlin, Dan Mellor and man of the match David Worthington.

They lead second-placed Rolls by six points with five matches left, but Silsden Whitestar are the main threats.

The fourth-placed club are seven points behind with two games in hand.

Skipton LMS are up to third after a 4-2 victory at Pendle Renegades, who drop from fourth to fifth.

On target for LMS were man of the match Ian Craven (2), Robert Bingham and Fred Midgley, with Nathan Taylforth and substitute George Blackburn replying for the Renegades, for whom George Skocky was man of the match.

Meanwhile, Cowling are back in the Premier Division.

Inspired by man of the match Luke Barker, they beat visitors Chatburn 3-1 on the 3G pitch at Sandylands to secure the points they needed to ensure finishing at least second.

Before the match they could be caught by both Skipton Town and Carleton if they won their remaining five matches, although Cowling's goal difference would probably still have kept them ahead.

However, now the only question is who will win the Division One championship.

Cowling, who have two matches left, are 14 points ahead of Rolls Reserves, who have four games in hand but cannot be promoted as their first team are already in the Premier Division.

The Keighley Road club, who just missed out on promotion last season, when they were third, a point behind Sporting Keighley, were last in the top flight in 2014-15.

They must now hope that they have a season like 2012-13, when they finished fifth, rather than 2013-14, when they were next to bottom but stayed up, or the following season, when they finished in the same position but went down.

Skipton Town Reserves are out of a relegation place in Division Two after winning 3-2 at Barnoldswick Barons, whose man of the match was Tom Cleaver.

Liam Coates, Antony Dean and Andrew Waite netted for Town, for whom Joshua Newton was man of the match.

However, Town's second string will return to second from bottom if Cross Hills Reserves win their game in hand.

In Division Three, newcomers Silsden Whitestar Reserves drew 3-3 at Settle United Thirds, which was enough to make them leaders.

Goals for the visitors, whose man of the match was James Whitehead, came from Jake Muir, Ryan Narey and substitute Mark Bradley, with Mark Cardus being United's gong winner.

However, the draw was a good result for Ilkley, who are second a point behind Whitestar with a game in hand.

Eighth-placed Broomhill Reserves lost 4-1 at third-placed Barlick Wanderers, whose goals came from Dan Holden (2) and Sam Walsh (2).
