STEETON Reserves bowed out of the Division One League Cup semi-finals last night as hosts Golcar Reserves beat them 3-1 on penalties after the game had ended in a 0-0 draw.

A young and spirited Chevrons gave a fantastic display and went close through Callum Wear and Freddie Maddocks. Steeton keeper Joe Mash was well protected by a very disciplined back four.

With chances at a premium, Steeton had to thank Will Knight for a goal-line clearance late on but, with neither side able to make the breakthrough, it went down to a shoot-out. The hosts triumphed and go through to the final with Route One Rovers.

Steeton manager Andy Foster was incredibly proud of his side, saying: "They gave us everything and I couldn't have asked anymore from them. As a manager that's all you ask for.

"We now need to brush ourselves down and prepare for our final few league games and the Keighley Supplementary Cup final on Monday."
