Ingleton FC Reserves 1 Waddington FC Reserves 2

WADDINGTON Reserves lifted the the Craven FA's Norman Pratt Trophy after a hard-earned replay win.

Both defences were much tighter than in the original game which finished in a 4-4 draw.

Both teams were evenly matched, and the game was played in an excellent spirit.

Waddington took the lead through a Robert Lloyd penalty, but they needed two excellent saves from Danny Anderson to protect their advantage.

He was eventually beaten when a deflected shot from Will Smith brought Ingleton's equaliser.

The large crowd roared their teams on as both strove for the winner, but it was Waddington who took the lead when an Ingleton defender turned the ball into his own net.

Anderson pulled off an incredible save as Ingleton pressed for the equaliser. The Ingleton team and supporters were baying for a penalty in the later stages when a forward took a tumble but Referee Matthew Buckmaster, who had an excellent game, was unmoved.

Both teams deserve credit for the high level of skill displayed in a reserve game.

They provided two bumper crowds with 210 minutes of highly-entertaining football.

The supporters deserve a mention for the tremendous support they gave their clubs.
