After seven straight wins, in which they scored 45 goals while conceding only six, leaders Silsden Whitestar have finally been beaten in the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League Premier Division.

They lost 4-2 at fourth-placed defending champions Settle United, who may be credible contenders again as they are now only eight points adrift with three games in hand.

Peter Hanson and Joshua Metcalfe were on target for Whitestar, who had Gavin Shearer sent off, while Dan Bathers, John Beckwith, Elliot Firth and Tom Strickland netted for United.

Cross Hills did Whitestar a favour, however, by holding second-placed Grassington United to a 3-3 draw at Sutton Playing Fields.

Eddie Evans, Mark Hoban and Luke Newton were Hills' marksmen as they climbed from ninth to eighth, with Matthew Appleton, Jan Ozdoba and man of the match Jake Schindler replying.

Sixth-placed Cowling made a nonsense of the standings in lower mid-table by winning 8-1 at Manningham Allstars, who are only a place below the visitors.

Luke Barker and George Sellars notched braces for the victors, with the tally being made up in a sparkling display by the Craigs (Gregory and Walton) and substitutes Jack Diamond and Tim McNee.

Man of the match Matthew Nutter got the only goal for Pendle Renegades in their 2-1 defeat at Trawden Celtic, who climbed from third to second.

That is also the case with Skipton Town in Division One after a 3-1 home victory over Broomhill, courtesy of goals by Michael Conroy, Sam Kimberley and substitute Jonathon Reynolds.

Carleton remain on top after a 4-2 victory at Hellifield Sports, with Luke Howsen (2), Ben Teal and substitute Ashley Purnell getting the goals for the leaders, with man of the match Matthew Beckwith (2) replying.

Cononley Sports were the biggest climbers in the section, going from ninth to sixth on the back of a 5-2 home victory over eighth-placed Chatburn.

Miroslav Allen's double was added to by Craig Ebbrell, man of the match Jake Manditsch and Colin Throupe in a game where all the goals came in the second half.

Settle United Reserves have risen from fifth to fourth after a 9-0 victory at lowly Earby Town, with the marksmen being Dale Denham (2), man of the match Mark Loughlin (2), Paul Ambrose, Sam Arrowsmith, Nick Cokell, Ben O'Hagan and Will Reed.

Silsden Whitestar Reserves triumphed in Division Two, Zac Conway, Simon Cox, Brad Fay and Ryan Narey netting in a 4-3 home win over Skipton Town Reserves for whom Paul Robinson, Jacob Ross and substitute Naq Hussain were on target.

Grassington United Reserves had an 8-1 home romp over Barlick Wanderers but only had three scorers, with Sean Clayton hitting four and Carl Drewett and substitute Nick Breckon two each.

Tom Hunter got the sole reply for Wanderers, whose man of the match was Sam Walsh.

Barnoldswick Barons did well to get a 5-5 draw at Salts, with man of the match Gareth Turner (3), James Cumpstey and Jake Wiggins on target for the 11th-placed visitors for whom this was only their second point.

Carl Osadzenko was the sole scorer for AFC Barnoldswick in their 4-1 home defeat to Bingley Town, while George Blackburn (2) and Jake Hargreaves netted for Pendle Renegades Reserves in their 9-3 setback at home to Ilkley Town Junior Men's Academy.

Tenth-placed Liam Littlewood-inspired Sutton had the most eye-catching result in Division Three, beating third-placed visitors Iplay FC Barrowford 5-0, courtesy of a Mickey Ruddock hat-trick and singles by Phil Clayton and Aiden Robertson.

Cowling Reserves, who were 5-2 winners over fourth-placed Horton, are eyeing promotion.

Man of the match Jimmy Anson (2), Seth Wiseman (2) and substitute David Townson were the marksmen for the second-placed club, while a Dan Cardus strike was enough to give Settle United Thirds a 1-0 victory over Otley Town.
