HELLIFIELD Sports had a rare West Riding County FA Trophy tie at Junction Inn Rastrick.

Surprisingly, there were no goals in normal time, but Sports won the penalty shoot-out 3-1 to reach the third round, where they will host Morley Amateur on Saturday, December 2.

Also through are Silsden Whitestar, although they didn't have to kick a ball.

Whitestar, handed a walkover by visitors Mount, now visit Horbury Town Reserves.

Unfortunately, there were also casualties, with Cowling going down 3-0 at Overthorpe Sports Club, and Bradley losing 5-1 at home to Halifax side Ivy House, including one goal that was a 50-yard clearance.

The home side played up the slope first and were 4-0 behind at half-time, despite creating some half-chances.

Bradley were better in the second half, Lee Brittain's close-range header proving a mere consolation, although they should have scored more than one.

Settle United Reserves bowed out 4-0 at Prince of Wales (Ossett).

There were also a few matches played in the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League, and defending champions Settle United climbed to second in the Premier Division after a 5-2 victory at fifth-placed Rolls.

A brace by United's man of the match Elliot Firth was added to by John Beckwith, Matthew Cardus and Tom Strickland, while on target for Rolls, who were 2-2 at half-time, were Luke Cockroft and Ben Whitaker.

It was a happier day for Rolls Reserves, who reversed the first team's scoreline to triumph at AFC Colne.

Marksmen for the second string, who climbed a place to second, were man of the match Damon Clark (2), Chris Gaskell, Lewis Rimmer and substitute Matthew Coates.

Skipton Town Reserves secured victory in the first half of their Division Two Cup tie at home to Pendle Renegades Reserves.

Town led 6-2 at the interval and went on to win 7-4 in securing a quarter-final at either Silsden Whitestar Reserves or Trawden Celtic Reserves.

Jacob Ross led the way with a hat-trick, and was backed up by Sean Graham, Aiden Herron, Ben Lowry and Tom Mountain, with replies coming from George Blackburn, Jake Hargreaves, Dan Paton and substitute Damon Whelan.

Silsden Whitestar Reserves won 3-2 at Grassington United Reserves in Division Two to stay third.

Zac Conway, man of the match James Hitch and Sam Stanfield were on target for the visitors, with David Greenwood (2) replying for United, who had Nicky Wright sent off for two yellow cards.

If it was thrills you were after, however, then look no further than Cross Hills Reserves and Settle United Thirds, who drew 6-6 in Division Three.

Luke Newton (3), Jordan Hough and and Tom Snowden were among the scorers for the south Craven hosts, who climbed one spot to fourth, while the third team went to seventh from eighth on the back of goals by, among others, Will Smith (2), Barnaby Harrison and substitute James Eather.

Cowling Reserves, meanwhile, are second on goal difference behind Burnley Belvedere after defeating visitors Bingley Town Reserves 1-0.

Man of the match Jimmy Anson got the goal, but the Lancastrians do have a game in hand.
