SPORTING Keighley continued their good league form with an impressive 3-2 victory against Rolls in the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven & District Premier Division.

All of the action was crammed into an exciting first period, with the five goals being scored before the referee whistled for the break.

Alhassaine Keita, Shazad Khan and Dawood Quyam all found the net for Keighley. Broomhill maintained their position in the top four of Division One with an emphatic 5-0 win over a hapless Bradley side. Marshall Pedder finding the net twice for the home side. Cononley Sports also secured a win, an impressive 3-1 victory over Hellifield Sports easing any lingering relegation fears. Robert Slater came off the bench and scored twice.

Silsden Whitestar Reserves, who are riding high in Division Two, emulated their first team by reaching the final of their district cup. Whitestar were given a bye and a free pass into the showpiece event.

Sutton secured a fine 3-0 away win at Bingley Town Reserves in Division Three to extend the gap between them and the league’s basement side Otley Town. Will Bestwick scored twice for them.

Cross Hills Reserves eased into the Division Three Cup final with a comprehensive 4-1 home victory over Otley Town, where they will face Iplay FC Barrowford.

Ollie Hunter hit six for Silsden Whitestar as they demolished Cowling 13-0 in their Keighley Cup semi-final.

The win sees them ease into next Thursday’s final against Steeton.

Whitestar built up a comfortable 4-0 lead by the end of the first half and, with the win already in the bag, they ran riot in the second period.

Aside from man of the match Hunter’s double hat-trick, there were braces for both Sam Stanfield and Rob Matthews. A goal apiece from Patryk Barylski, James Wilson and William Storrie ensured Silsden racked up a baker’s dozen.

Whitestar will be hoping for a double celebration at the end of the season. As well as the Keighley Cup final on May 3, they are hoping to reel in Settle United to win the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven & District Premier Division.

Remarkably, their title push had stalled after they met Cowling the previous Wednesday, with the crucial league match ending in a dull 0-0 draw.
