They reached the semi-final of the Northern Plant Hire Trophy after Joshua Metcalfe scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over Settle United.

Liam Garbutt hit five goals for the home side as they romped to an extraordinary victory. Damon Clark struck twice and Steven Prenton also netted as Rolls ran riot.

They had been in scintillating scoring form earlier in the week too as they showed stamina in their Northern Plant Hire Trophy quarter-final against Carleton.

The game was locked at 3-3 after 90 minutes but Rolls hit another three goals in extra-time to emerge with a 6-3 win. Clark scoring yet another double.

Premier Division leaders Settle United suffered a blow as they lost 3-2 at home to title rivals Grassington United. Fred Midgley, Ian Craven and Reece Fowler netted for the away side as they moved four points behind Settle.

Rolls had beaten rock-bottom Earby Town 7-1 earlier in the week, with Luke Parkinson at the double.

Skipton were celebrating earlier in the week though, after Thompson secured a surprise 1-0 semi-final victory away to Premier Division Cowling in the Northern Plant Hire Trophy. They will face Rolls or Silsden Whitestar in the final.

Skipton Town Reserves fell to an unsurprising 4-0 defeat at runaway league leaders Bingley Town.
