SIX new senior records were set at the Withins Skyline fell race near Haworth.
Ilkley Harrier Tom Adams kicked off the record breaking, winning the seven-mile race (featuring 1,000 feet of climb) for the second time in 38min 49sec ahead of Wharfedale Harriers runner-up Jack Smith.
Christian Holmes won the Veteran 40 award, coming fifth in a 43.33, as the Silsden-based Wharfedale club won the men's team prize, Marc Sennett coming tenth. Barlick Fell Runners' Chris Smale won the V50 prize in ninth.
Lindsey Brindle set a new ladies record, the Horwich RMI runner winning the female category in 47.05 as her club also won the team prize.
The four other records which were broken all came in the ladies categories as Lynne Clough (FV40), Anne Johnson (FV50), Aileen Baldwin (FV60) and
Brenda Roberts (FV70) set new benchmarks.
In the junior Quarry Rat Runs, Keighley & Craven's James Sadler-Townsend set a new boys under-8 record and Phoebe Midgley equalled the
girls under-8 best in a race that attracted 42 runners.
Other age-group winners were Eddie Hinchcliffe (BU18), Matthew Merrick (BU16), Joe Hudson (BU14), Alex Thompson (BU12), Dexta Thompson (BU10), Hannah Thom (GU18), Victoria Merrick (GU16), Emily Jones (GU14), Lilli Carr (GU12) and Katie Handley (GU10) from a field of a 140.
