TWO Craven students have been selected to run for England in the European Youth Mountain Running Cup in Italy this weekend.

Skipton Academy's Joe Hudson and Giggleswick School's Euan Brennan will be aiming to impress at Gagliano del Capo.

Hudson is the Yorkshire Under-17 fell champion and runs for Keighley & Craven, while Brennan competes for Ilkley Harriers.

Hudson gained his first England vest in the Junior Home International in Keswick last year, where he finished third and helped England to the team title.

Also a cross country runner, Hudson came sixth in the Yorkshire County Championships and 45th in the English Schools Championships.

Hudson has been racing in the under-17 English Fell Running Championship series and is currently lying in second place.

Leading the standings is Brennan, who won the trial for this event to earn his first international mountain running vest.

He was fourth in the 2016 British Mountain Running Championships.

A strong cross country runner, Brennan was 11th in this year’s English Schools Cross Country Championships and fourth in the Yorkshire County Championships.
