ERMYSTED'S Grammar School pupils Joe Hudson and Tom Barrett have been selected to represent England Under-17s A in the British & Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships on Saturday.
The Keighley & Craven Athletics Club duo will be kept company in the eight-strong team by Giggleswick School's Euan Brennan (Ilkley Harriers) in the event at Peebles in Scotland, while Skipton Girls' High School's Emily Jones (Wharfedale Harriers) is making her international debut in the England Under-17s' B team.
Hudson won the trial race, which was held at the end of last month, and the championship brings the mountain running season to a close.
Brennan came fifth as part of the England team that came fourth in the International Youth Cup in Italy in June, making his England debut, and was a team-mate of Hudson's, who came 14th.
Hudson won a bronze medal in last year's event at Keswick, while Barrett is hoping to better his 11th-placed finish.
Both Barrett and Hudson are coached by Alan Buckley and John Dennis, while Brennan's mentor is Andy Henderson.
In the England Under-20 B team are Ilkley Harriers Jemima Elgood and Lucy Haines, while Bingley Harriers' Emily Field is in the England Under-17 A team.
