Victoria Wilkinson is fighting fit and back in the Great Britain mountain running team.

The Hebden runner put her recent injury troubles behind her to win the World Mountain Running trials at Glenrydding near Ullswater.

Wilkinson’s victory earned her automatic selection for the Great Britain team to compete in Italy on September 2.

This will be the 20th successive year that she has represented her country either running or biking.

It was her ability on a bike that enabled her to cross train and recover her fitness for uphill running.

Hellifield ’s Jimmy Craig was second in Sunday’s Farleton Knott fell race in South Cumbria with a time of 39 mins 17 secs.

He finished 49 seconds behind the winner Todd Oates of Ambleside AC. A member of Wharfedale Harriers, Craig is improving all the time.

He is currently leading the BOFRA under-23 men's championship and this latest performance will put him high up in the order of this year's BOFRA Senior Men’s Championship.

It won’t be long before Craig starts to win races outright.

Wharfedale dominated the under-17 race with James Hall, Declan Bulmer, Harry Muir and Nicole Narey filling the first four places.

Ingleton ’s Mollie Bratt continued her run of success in the under-nine girls.

She recorded a time of 3min 49sec.
