Skipton rounded off their Division Three championship-winning campaign with a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Addingham.

It was their 15th win and saw them finish 14 points ahead of second-placed Upper Wharfedale who have been promoted with them.

The six points they gained also took them past the 100 mark for the season.

Good bowling from Richard Nichols (4-20), Faisal Hussain (2-20), Andrew Fergie (2-38) and Gary Owens (2-38) saw them dismiss their rivals for 118.

Addingham’s Kiwi batsman Ricky Palacio made 20 and just missed out on 1,000 runs for the season.

Young batsman Ben Holderness was promoted to open the Skipton innings and he made an unbeaten 53 as his side eased to their target.

Rock-bottom Silsden were comfortably defeated by second-placed Upper Wharfedale and must hope they can now follow in Skipton’s footsteps and go from bottom to top in one season when they return to action in 2014.

Once again they struggled for runs and were restricted to 128-8 as Tom Baines (2-2), Dan Benson (2-27) and Josh Gill (2-34) bowled tidily.

Upper Wharfedale has little trouble easing to their target for the loss of just three wickets.

Australian Bobby Wilson (36) and skipper James Freebury (35) made sure there were no alarms as they launched the innings with an opening stand of 71.

Steeton completed their inconsistent Division One campaign with a six-wicket triumph over Kirkstall Educational.

They were clearly a team in a hurry as they passed their opponents’ score of 172 in just 20.5 overs.

Neil Spragg (43) off 25 balls and Mark Taylor (37no) from 12 deliveries, sped their side to victory after openers Andrew Foulds (39) and Chris Baines (31) had set the tone for the innings.
