Former Craven League player Arran Brindle has been selected in the England women’s squad to defend the Ashes early next year.
The Barrowford protege, who now plays for Sussex, is in a 15-strong party led by Charlotte Edwards that will contest one Test match, three one-day internationals and three Twenty20 internationals.
The series will again be decided on a points basis, England having won 12-4 on home soil earlier this year.
England will be bolstered by the return of Yorkshire pace bowler Katherine Brunt, Heather Knight and Anya Shrubsole after the trio all missed the tour of the West Indies through injury.
After the Ashes comes the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.
