OAKWORTH are four points clear at the head of Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One after they beat Bingley Congs and Ingrow St John’s lost to Barrowford.

Up at Cure Hill, Congs were put in and, thanks to a swashbuckling 91 from Neil Copping (seven sixes, six fours), they posted 186 as Adam Smith claimed 6-41 and Michael Scarborough 4-54.

The home side won by three wickets in the 43rd over. Jack Davison led the way with 37 and Smith made 36 before Joel Gallagher (26no) and Steve Filkin(15no) put on an undefeated 38 for the eighth wicket as Harry Greenhalgh took 4-72.

Ingrow St John’s slipped up at home to Barrowford by 12 runs. The red-rose side staggered to 114, the next highest score being nine as Wasim Hussain took 4-18 off just 3 overs.

Butt the Saints were knocked over for 102, with Nadeem Safdar top-scoring with 34.

Thornton stay in the bottom two as they went down by three wickets to Haworth Road at Booth Bridge Lane.

The hosts managed 129 as Mansha Khan claimed 4-12 but the Baildon Bottom side also found runs hard to come by. and took 36.5 overs to get over the line, with Rob Greenwood top-scoring with 35.

Haworth are moving away from the bottom of the table.

They went to Ryshworth Park and dismissed Crossflatts for 155, with Nathan Bradley scoring 61 as Damian Rowell took 6-39. Jamie Rowell (55) and Dan Trowers (56) put on 65 for the second wicket to set the Bronte side up for a welcome six-wicket victory.

Bottom side Cowling won the toss and decided to bat at home to Riddlesden but it was emphatically the wrong move.

They were blasted out for 48 in just 19.2 overs, with Martyn Dalby top-scoring with 18 as Mohammed Shahnawaz took 6-18 and Mohammed Zulfiqar 4-29.

The Grange Road team screamed home in the eighth over for the loss of just one wicket.

Division Two leaders Glusburn were at Long Lee and skittled them for just 52.

The Golden View side, shorn of their top five batsmen, had no answer to Nick Williamson (5-22) and Mark Pickles (2-27).

The visitors cruised home in the 14th over for the loss of two wickets, with Ian Simons making 41 not out.
