OVERSEAS player Caleb Grant produced a match-winning performance as Upper Wharfedale beat Calverley by 145-runs in the Aire-Wharfe league Division Three.

Grant took 7-46 as Calverley were bowled out for 121 after earlier being one of four batsmen to make half-centuries in Upper Wharfedale's 266-7.

Grant made 52 and backed up the earlier efforts of opener Callum Lockett (75), skipper Dave Eggleton (60) and Jake Starkey (56).

Silsden remain rooted to the bottom after their eight-wicket defeat by Hall Park. A half-century from Zabi Ullah (58) was the highlight of Silsden’s 149, but Hall Park had little trouble easing to victory.

Steeton were put to the sword at Bilton, who romped to a 171-run win in Division One.

Batting first, the hosts amassed a commanding 304-8 as Ryan Bradshaw made 105.

Pick of the Steeton bowlers was Joe Stead, who nipped out both openers with the score on just 33 and finished with 3-61, with two catches for keeper Andrew Foulds.

With a push for late runs, Bilton lost three wickets to run outs by Jon Best, Max Tomkinson and Steve Pearson but the Harrogate side's total proved far too big for Steeton.

They lost their top three batsmen with just 37 on the board. Chris Luxton (20) and James Freebury (23) steadied the collapse with a 37-run fourth-wicket partnership. But wickets continued to fall as Steeton were all out for 133 in 31.1 overs.

A half-century from Zabi Ullah (58) was the highlight of Silsden’s 149, Mark Bradley weighing in with 38, but Steve Phillips (62) led Hall Park’s successful run chase – by eight wickets – to notch their fourth win in a row.

Skipton returned to winning ways with a 52-run win over Thackley in Division Two. Rain before the tart reduced the game to 40 overs per side and Skipton were soon in trouble at 11-2.

Shahid Nadeem knuckled down and gained good support from Izaac Beck in a third-wicket stand of 76.

Nadeem went on to make a fine 64, but Skipton were again in some trouble at 129-6 when he and Iqbal Khan were dismissed in quick succession.

Gary Owens made an unbeaten 30 in the closing nine overs as the Skipton total moved on to 175-8.

Thackley struggled against the accurate Skipton bowling and were dismissed for 123. Richard Nichols (3-19) and Khan (3-29) were the pick of the bowlers.
